Job Summary:
The primary responsibilities of the Regional Account Manager are to develop, maintain and expand business opportunities among regional accounts and affiliates of key national customers. Ensure that account specific business plans for Daiichi Sankyo products accurately reflect the strategic direction established for various business or trade categories.

Essential Functions:
Provide input to marketing on promotional tools to ensure that developed promotional materials are relevant to customer needs. Evaluate the potential business value of called on accounts and appropriately allocate financial resources across these accounts in order to maximize company value while meeting customer objectives. Establish and maintain account penetration and business plans for regional accounts, constantly reviewing sales dynamics and contract compliance when applicable. Secure formulary approvals with targeted customers, develop and implement regional pull-thru programs to expand Daiichi Sankyo's market share position. Develop a strong alliance with local sales management and co-promote partners to ensure coordinated efforts between access and pull through. Regional Account Manager will be expected to develop and maintain an integrated business plan which illustrates local market opportunities and pull-thru efforts for all sales districts they are aligned with. Implement and execute national account strategy as directed by Corporate Account Managers. Assist districts with local plans that are not covered by the managed care sales force, but identified by the district as key in that micro market. Serve as a facilitator/mentor to help direct and guide district managers and/or representatives in their management of these local plans.

Education and Experience Requirements:
BA/BS required. A minimum of 4 - 5 years successful pharmaceutical sales experience. Strong interaction and active field involvement with managed care account managers and pull thru projects. Sales management, and/or marketing experience a plus. Outstanding oral and written communication skills are essential. The ability to think strategically and bring a high level of creativity to the organization, along with an understanding of the managed care market.
